Feltonville is an unincorporated area in North Carolina. It is positioned north of Holly Springs, near where North Carolina Highway 540 meets North Carolina Highway 55, which is south of Apex. Things to do in Feltonville include but are not limited to the following:

  • The Page-Walker Hotel, also known as the Page-Walker Arts & History Center, is an antique house museum and previous hotel sited in Cary, North Carolina. The founder of the town of Cary, Allison Francis Page, constructed the Second Empire style hotel in about 1868, and J. R. Walker purchased it later.

Accessible Parking Spaces for the Handicapped

  • Parking spaces for the handicapped refers to the designated areas in parking lots that are specifically meant for people with disabilities.

  • All private businesses and public agencies are required to provide this. They are also required to adhere to the set national regulations by the ADA so that the parking space is safe to all its users including people without any personal assistance irrespective of whether they are visitors or locals. ​

ADA Compliant Parking Lot for the Handicapped

According to the ADA, private businesses and public agencies are required to provide a specified number of accessible parking spaces for people with disabilities that must meet minimum size and have proper signage in place. The regulations require that all parking lots be appropriately designed and have all the appropriate markings and signage that will ensure the safety of all in the parking space. Some of the regulations include: 

  • The international symbol for accessible parking for people with disabilities should be in all parking lots indicating reserved spots for handicapped people. The emblem is usually a picture of a person using the wheelchair with white paint on top of a blue background. 

  • Van accessible parking spaces should have an additional sign below the accessibility symbol that marks the van accessible area explicitly.  

  • The signs should always be erected to a height of at least 5 feet above the surface to avoid obstruction from parked vehicles or other obstructions. 

  • Handicapped parking spaces are required to be spacious enough for cars to be able to park as well as allow people in wheelchairs to move easily.

  • Parking space for a particular building must be on the shortest accessible route of travel from the parking point to the entrance. 
​
  • Accessible parking area should measure at least 96 inches wide and have an adjacent available aisle. ​
